Almost every month in Bali is filled with special religious day. Here are some that you can observe if you are in Bali in May. Balinese has their unique way of life to balance of all aspect of life with their local wisdom of Tri Hita Karana philosophy.

Saraswati Day

Saraswati Day will be celebrated on Saturday 20th May 2023. This day honours education, knowledge, science, art and all forms of higher learning. Ceremonies will be held at schools and universities around the island whereby students will pray together. It is a time to express gratitude for past achievements and guidance for future academic endeavors.

Pagerwesi Day

Pagerwesi is another important religious holiday that involves prayers and offerings we held on Wednesday 24th May 2023. It is essentially a time to contemplate the future and mentally strengthen oneself against unexpected obstacles. Like many Balinese festivities, Pagerwesi also celebrates the universal battle between good and evil.
