Bali’s cultural calendar is a continuous cycle of ceremonies and rituals associated with the Hindu faith, there are many auspicious occasions including Pagerwesi.
Pagerwesi is another important religious holiday that involves prayers and offerings we held on Wednesday 1st September 2021. It is essentially a time to contemplate the future and mentally strengthen oneself against unexpected obstacles. Like many Balinese festivities, Pagerwesi also celebrates the universal battle between good and evil.
Tumpek Landep on 11th September 2021 pays homage to metal heirlooms such as the traditional daggers that were once part of Bali’s warrior past. These weapons are cleaned and blessed with offerings and a sprinkle of holy water. Nowadays, cars and motorbikes are also decorated and blessed by the Hindu community.
