Welcome to the January 2012 edition of the Amadea Resort and Villas Newsletter | January 2012 Connect With Us

Welcome to our January 2012 newsletter.

What a pleasure it is to present the latest edition of our online newsletter. Read on to find out what is happening at Amadea Resort & Villas in the lifestyle district of Seminyak – Bali.

We’ve had a busy start to the year and the seasonal rains have not stopped visitors from enjoying their holiday time on the island. We must also take this opportunity to thank the local government as well as the police who worked extremely hard over the recent festive season to ensure that it was incident- free.

The month of February is a great time to think about visiting Bali. There will be several auspicious days on the calendar that honour the Hindu religion. We’ll tell you all about the Galungan and Kuningan ceremonial days to give you a better understanding of the island’s cultural heritage.

On a lighter note, Valentine’s Day on the 14th February is all about celebrating the spirit of love. And Bali has all the right ingredients for romance – inspiring sunsets, relaxing spa treatments and fabulous wining & dining options. So why not surprise that special person in your life with a private getaway for two!

Happy reading and we hope to see you in Bali very soon!

Spa Sensations

Spa Sensations

No holiday to the island of Bali is complete without a pampering spa experience! Ambiente Spa is well-versed in the art of personal wellness and will have you looking good and feeling even better this February with two exciting promotional treatments.

Shirodara – 60 minutes
This nurturing treatment is an ancient Ayurvedic healing ritual that originated in India and is performed to purify the mind. It involves a constant stream of warm oil being poured over the forehead on a spot also known as the ‘third eye’. This soothing ritual heightens the senses and releases stress, fatigue and nervous tension by stimulating blood circulation to the brain. Shirodara is available exclusively at Ambiente Spa for the special introductory price of just Rp.400.000 net /per person.

Royal Honeymoon – 150 minutes
This is an indulging treatment for couples that celebrates togetherness. The pampering begins with a refreshing footbath followed by a traditional Balinese massage to eliminate muscle tension. A natural body scrub will leave the skin feeling soft while moisture levels are restored with a yoghurt body splash. A relaxing soak in an aromatic bath infused with flower petals brings this experience to an enlivening conclusion. Priced at just  Rp.999.000 net / per couple.

Galungan & Kuningan Celebrations

Galungan & Kuningan Celebrations

Bali’s Hindu community will celebrate Galungan Day on 1st February 2012. It is essentially a time of worship to commemorate the victory of righteousness against evil. Many locals will return home to their ancestral villages around the island to pray and partake in a number of ceremonial rituals and rites. Elaborate offerings bearing fruit and flowers are prepared to appease the Gods and the spirits of defied ancestors.

Kuningan Day on 11th February 2012 marks the end of the Galungan religious festivities. Every family temple hosts a ceremony before midday to symbolically pay respect to defied ancestors and spirits that are believed to have descended to earth to observe this holiday period. Through prayers and special offerings, the Balinese express their gratitude to God Almighty for his eternal blessing.

While Galungan and Kuningan are considered auspicious dates on the Balinese cultural calendar, the island’s tourism industry remains virtually unaffected by these public holidays. All hotels, restaurants and shopping outlets will remain fully operational unless stated otherwise

Bali Zoo

Bali Zoo

The Bali Zoo is a locally owned wildlife conservation facility located in the village of Sukawati, which is on the way to Ubud. It encompasses 12 acres of tropical landscape with eco-friendly enclosures housing a fine collection of Indonesian birds and animals as well as exotic species from around the world. The zoo takes visitors on a virtual jungle tour to see animals up close and personal. There are also plenty of ‘hands-on’ photo experiences to be enjoyed. A trip to the Bali Zoo is a fun day out for the entire family with accessible pathways for pushchairs. Contact our Guest Service Assistant at the Lobby to arrange the best available ticket prices.
