Amadea's Art Appreciation Month

Amadea Resort & Villas is delighted to announce that it will be hosting an exhibition of Keliki style paintings throughout September by talented Balinese artist, I Wayan Gama. This month-long event will take place in the resort's Lobby Lounge in an effort to generate awareness about Bali’s artistic heritage.  

The Keliki style is named after a small village just north of Ubud and these miniature works of art capture scenes of daily village life. I Wayan Gama founded the Keliki Painting School in 2005 for local Balinese children. His vision was to ignite the imagination of the next generation of aspiring artists and ensure that the Keliki style remains relevant.  

The exhibition can be enjoyed daily and other activities during the month will include an in-house Garden Cinema with Bali-related movies screened in a relaxing setting under the stars. A Village Tour will also give guests the opportunity to visit the charming hamlet of Keliki to see a traditional Balinese home and interact with school children during their art classes.

New Deck for Poolside Bar

Happy hour at Amadea typically sees guests flock to our poolside bar every day between 3pm and 5pm to enjoy icy cold beers and cocktails. Due to the increasing popularity of this casual spot, we recently built a new wooden deck area complete with synthetic rattan table settings and shady pool umbrellas. It provides a relaxing environment to savour lunch or sit and keep a watchful eye on children as they play. The poolside bar serves a full menu of drinks until late and it is the perfect space to mingle with old friends and new after the sun has gone down.

Taxi Appreciation Day

On an island where the public transportation sector is still relatively underdeveloped, Bali’s taxi drivers play an important role in serving the needs of visitors in a safe and convenient manner. In fact, they are true ambassadors for the tourism industry and help maintain the island’s image as a popular travel destination. To show gratitude for these unsung heroes, Amadea once again held its Taxi Appreciation Day. This inspiring initiative is a highly-anticipated event that is now conducted every year in conjunction with Indonesian Independence Day.

On 18th August 2015, a small group of staff members from various departments took to the street to hand out free lunch boxes to taxi drivers and freelance transport drivers operating on Jalan Laksamana. “All of the drivers in this immediate area support the resort by providing transport services for our guests. We are grateful to be surrounded by good people who care about Seminyak and this is our way of saying thank you for the work they do,” said Resty Kaningsih, Sales Manager at Amadea Resort and Villas.

Since our opening back in 2011, we’ve been active on Facebook and Twitter. Both of these platforms have enabled us to communicate directly with guests and the response has been extremely positive. We’ve received inquiries and bookings via social media and have even helped guests locate personal belongings after they’ve checked out. Many of our followers choose to share and repost our updates with their own circle of friends. Amadea is fast becoming a name that Bali holidaymakers recognize and trust.
 

Celebrating Our In-House Stars and Cleaning Blitz

A Cleaning Blitz was carried out at Petitenget Beach on 29th August 2015 to remove unsightly waste materials and leave the area in pristine condition for others to enjoy. The remainder of the day included team building exercises to strengthen relationships within the workplace. Amadea’s Employee of the Quarter award was announced during this gathering followed by an informal beach party with a delicious BBQ and upbeat music. The theme for this year’s anniversary has been “Teamwork Makes the Dream Work” and this inspiring concept will be applied by all departments over the next 12 months.

Congratulations went out to Angkyolina Permatasari (Guest Service Assistant) as an Employee of the Quarter for his outstanding performance. Dodik Jasmana Putra (Guest Service Assistant) was chosen as a Employee of the Quarter Supporting Partner for his exceptional work ethic and team spirit. And Putu Pajar Aditia (Guest Service Assistant) was awarded Employee of the Quarter – Most Recommended by Guests. This particular evaluation was based on the results of guest comment card received in reference to the friendliness and service of our team.

At every gathering we reinforce Amadea’s vision to be a leading resort in Seminyak where genuine, happy people deliver a great experience for each guest. We are fortunate to have a young and energetic team of star performers who are eager to achieve.
