The Amadea Resort & Villas Team
Bye 2017 Welcome 2018
As 2017 draws to a close, it is time to look back and express our gratitude for another great year of business and several more awards to add to our growing collection. We have had the good fortune to serve a wonderful assortment of guests over the past 12 months. Coming from many different parts of the world they have chosen to stay with us whilst experiencing the island of Bali and all that it has to offer. Amadea has become a melting pot that unites people from all walks of life in the happening district of Seminyak.
In the hospitality industry there is always room for improvement and 2018 will see some changes to enhance the property. A number of upgrades will be taking place to help us better serve the needs of our guests.
Amadea will continue to collaborate with the Bali Smile Foundation to provide life-changing craniofacial surgeries for those in need. This charity initiative comes under the banner of Amadea Cares, a Corporate Social Responsibility program that helps disadvantaged members of the local community. To date, the generosity of our in-house guests has helped us to fund a total of 21 operations. It is heartening to know that patients who would have otherwise lived with disfiguring afflictions are now able to smile.
Our growing commitment to eco-friendly practices will be strengthened. We will be investigating how we can further reduce our carbon footprint by embracing the concept of sustainable tourism. This will involve training our team to be environmental ambassadors and coming up with innovative ways to recycle and reuse just like we have done with our Christmas tree.
We look forward to welcoming both old and new guests in 2018 with updated services and facilities that will invariably take the whole Amadea experience to the next level.
Unique Christmas Tree at Amadea Resort & Villas
Given the overwhelming success of last year’s unique Christmas tree, this year’s tree is an elegant work of art that has been designed from the ‘alang-alang’ leave resulting a beautiful Balinese style Christmas tree. “The Engineering team have set schedule to work for several hours every day to construct the tree with the help of some staff from other department. In-house guests will be invited to participate. Certainly we hope the end result will be a stunning piece of craftsmanship that pays tribute to local Balinese creativity”, comments project leader, Mr. Dody Hermanta the Chief Engineering of Resort & Villas.
Amadea Won Emerald in Tri Hita Karana Awards 2017
It is a great news to close the year, we have again won for second time a row the Emerald Medal in the Tri Hita Karana Awards for managing to sustain a hospitality environment that is conducive to the Hindu religion. Tri Hita Karana is a Balinese lifestyle philosophy based on the belief that spiritual and physical wellness is achieved through a balanced existence. The awards are an annual initiative conducted to recognize local tourism related organizations that implement the religious and social values of Tri Hita Karana.
The award was presented by the Vice Governor of Bali, Mr. Ketut Sudikerta, in an official awards ceremony hosted at the Ksirarnawa Hall, Art Centre Denpasar, on 25 November 2017. Chief Engineer and leader of Amadea’s Social & Environment Committee, Mr. Gst Ngurah Indra Saputra, collected the medal on behalf of the property. He later commented, “It is indeed a great honour to receive this award for our adherence to Bali’s age-old wisdoms. This achievement will motivate us to strive for nothing less than perfection in our ongoing quest to preserve Bali’s unique cultural traditions.
Pillow Menu
We understand just how to difficult it is to find the perfect pillow to ensure a restful sleep especially when you are away from home. Some hotel pillows are just too hard and others are often too soft – personal preference is entirely subjective. At Amadea we have found that most of our guests are generally satisfied with the pillows that we have available but there is always the odd exception. To address this concern we have created a Pillow Menuto anticipate special needs. In-House guests can now contact Housekeeping Department to order a certain pillow type to have alleviate their sleeping problems. The menu includes a range of soft pillows, hard piloows, goose feather pillows and even anti snore pillows that are available on request. We want all of our guests to have a good sleep during their time on the island of Bali and the solution is just an easy call away. Sweet dreams!
Bali's Cultural Calendar in January 2018
Siwa Ratri is one of Hindu ceremony will celebrate on 15th January 2018, Siwa Ratri often offered to as the ‘Night of Siwa’ is an auspicious time for introspection and meditation during which the Hindus of Bali pray for forgiveness of their earthy sins and for support and strength from Siwa in order to reach their higher selves.
Another important day coming up on Bali’s religious calendar is Tumpek Kandang on 20th January 2018. The occasion is dedicated to animals, particularly pigs, cows and livestock that are an essential source of income. Balinese farmers will carefully wash their most prized animals and conduct a small ceremony that entails a ritual blessing and specially prepared foods. This is performed with belief that prayers and offerings will result in good health and productive breeding habits.
Uluwatu Kecak Dance
The Kecak and Fire Dance performance is one of Bali’s most iconic art performance, famous for its dominant use of human vocals in place of Gamelan instrument to accompany the dance and drama at its core. The best place to do so is at the cliff-top Amphitheatre located just south of the Uluwatu Temple with the sunset view.
Please contact the Guest Service Assistant at the Lobby to arrange a trip to Uluwatu Temple or any other activities you might love to do while you are in Bali.
