What a pleasure it is to present the latest edition of our online newsletter. Read on to find out what is happening at Amadea Resort & Villas in the upbeat lifestyle district of Seminyak - Bali.
It has been a great start to the year and the seasonal rains have finally arrived to help refresh the island and keep things looking green. Bali recently made the list as one of the best islands in the world in an online poll by the prestigious Travel + Leisure magazine. This is excellent news and reinforces the fact that Bali remains as popular as ever despite Indonesia’s ongoing battle with terrorism, which is unfortunately a reality of today's modern world.
February is the perfect time to consider visiting Bali, especially with Valentine's Day and a number of cultural holidays coming up on the calendar. If you are looking for a few days of quality Seminyak relaxation, we've got several exclusive promotions available at the moment. We also have good news for coffee lovers as all of our villas now provide a coffee plunger and a selection of premium blends to be enjoyed whilst unwinding by the pool.
Happy reading and see you soon in Bali.

Bali Receives Best Island Recognition
Bali has secured a position as one of the world's best islands in a recent poll conducted by Travel + Leisure magazine. It comes in at second place just behind the Galápagos Islands and ahead of the Maldives, Tasmania and Santorini. Despite rapid development on the island, Bali has still managed to appeal to seasoned travellers and will hopefully continue to do so for many more years to come.
With its diverse landscape, rich cultural heritage and exciting lifestyle scene, Bali really does have something to offer everyone. It has an extensive choice of restaurants, cafes, spas and bars, not to mention plenty of great shopping options. There are endless pastimes for active guests, including world-class surf beaches, cycling trails, mountains to climb and even white water rafting rapids. However, what really makes Bali a winner is its people who are natural hosts as they welcome travellers from all walks of life with gracious hospitality that is second to none.
Welcoming the Year of the Fire Monkey
Although Bali is a predominantly Hindu island, it does have a large Chinese community that dates back many generations. They have their own cuisine, customs and celebrations, including Chinese New Year that will take place soon on 8th February 2016. The coming Year of the Fire Monkey is represented by one of the smartest animals in Chinese astrology. Therefore, the year is expected to be a time of global progress with a few surprises along the way to keep things lively.
In honour of Chinese New Year, we have crafted a special Chinese New Year Package for those of you looking to welcome the Year of the Fire Monkey in the vibrant district of Seminyak.
Starting from just USD 268 nett, you will get to stay in the comfort of a stylishly-appointed Deluxe Room. This exclusive offer includes return airport transfers, daily buffet breakfast and a 90 minute massage treatment per person at Ambiente Spa for some essential body, mind and spirit rejuvenation. It is valid for stay between January 31 up to February 14, 2016.
With Valentine's Day fast approaching, Bali is the ideal destination to celebrate your love as there are lots of different activities to create memories as a couple.
Here are some ideas to consider:
A day out on the sea with Bali Hai Cruises will take you to the neighbouring island of Nusa Lembongan
You can also canter along the beach on horseback with Bali Equestrian Centre
Visit the Elephant Safari Park for the ride of a lifetime.
Try an interactive cooking class to learn new skills or take a silver jewellery making class in Ubud.
For something really romantic, watch a sunset performance of the Kecak Dance at Uluwatu Temple followed by a seafood diner on the sands of Jimbaran Bay.
Any of these options are possible when you book a weekend break at Amadea with that special person in your life. Our Stay Two Nights & Get A Free Massage promo is all about personal indulgence and spending quality time together.
There are several auspicious dates coming up on Bali's religious calendar that make the island so unique. Galungan on 10th February 2016 marks the beginning of a ten day festival that sees the Balinese return home to their ancestral villages to pray in their family temples. It involves elaborate offerings to appease the Gods as well as the unseen elements of the underworld.
A number of symbolic rites will be performed over several days culminating in a final ceremony known as Kuningan on 20th February 2016. This is an opportunity for the Balinese to honour the spirits of defied ancestors and express gratitude for the gift of life. The Galungan holiday is a great time to visit Bali and experience its rich cultural heritage.
Nyepi or the Day of Silence on March 9 is another occasion that is not to be missed as all activity comes to a complete standstill.
