Warm greetings from Bali the island of the Gods!

It is always a pleasure to present the latest edition of our newsletter. This online initiative is created on a monthly basis to keep you informed about what is happening at Amadea Resort & Villas. Please read on as we bring you news about our special promotions and what is going on in the vibrant heart of Seminyak.

Bali is now winding down towards the end of the year and festive season preparations are well under way. Amadea is already fully booked from Christmas Day onwards; however, rooms are still available to enjoy a refreshing break over the coming weeks. Daily flights from most Asian and Australian cities make flying to Bali now easier than ever before.

In this edition we look at the ceremonial festivities of Tumpek Kandang. There is also information about Ride Bali's Waves with Rip Curl School of Surf. We feature news regarding Book Direct though our website and there are some extra special drink promotions to be savoured at Bistro Batu Kali.

Happy reading and see you soon in Bali.

Ride Bali's Waves with Rip Curl School of Surf

Bali is the ultimate surfing paradise and the island has attracted board riders from around the globe since the early 1970’s. Anyone who can’t actually surf now has the chance to learn with Rip Curl School of Surf. The school has facilities on the beaches of Legian as well as Sanur covering both coastlines with the pick of the island’s best breaks.

Lessons are available for beginners and those looking to build existing skills. Participants also get to use the very latest Rip Curl equipment and instructors are there every step of the way to teach the basics. Our Guest Service Attendant can be contacted via to make the necessary booking arrangements for a fun surfing lesson via reservations@arvs.pphotels.com prior to arriving in Bali.

Bali's Cultural Calendar

Important day coming up on Bali’s religious calendar is Tumpek Kandang on 26th November 2016. The occasion is dedicated to animals, particularly pigs, cows and livestock that are an essential source of income. Balinese farmers will carefully wash their most prized animals and conduct a small ceremony that entails a ritual blessing and specially prepared foods. This is performed with belief that prayers and offerings will result in good health and productive breeding habits.

Amadea' Water Bottle Refill Station

Amadea estimates that on an average day more than 200 bottles of water are served to in-house guests. This adds up to 6,000 bottles a month or 72,000 bottles a year and these numbers are really quite alarming. Although we go to great lengths to separate all waste at the resort and send these bottles to be recycled, we decided that we needed to take our concerns one step further.

As a result, Amadea launched an innovative Water Bottle Refill Station in an effort to reduce the consumption of plastic waste. Guests are now encouraged to refill their water bottles completely free of charge as often as needed. There has been a positive response to this initiative and we hope to see a significant drop in the number of plastic water bottles used over the coming months. Together we can all do our bit to help save the planet for the benefit of future generations.
