If you are an avid reader you will not give this very special event a miss. This year Ubud Writers & Readers Festival will bring together readers and writers from around the world from October 25 to 29 in Ubud, about 30 kilometers north east of Seminyak which is around an hour and a half car ride.

Across five days, the Ubud Writers & Readers Festival delivers an eclectic program of events – from fiery conversations to intimate literary lunches, gripping live performances to hands-on workshops.

Galungan and Kuningan Festival

There are several auspicious dates coming up on Bali's religious calendar that make the island so unique. Galungan on 1st November 2017 marks the beginning of a ten day festival that sees the Balinese return home to their ancestral villages to pray in their family temples. It involves elaborate offerings to appease the Gods as well as the unseen elements of the underworld. 

A number of symbolic rites will be performed over several days culminating in a final ceremony known as Kuningan on 11th November 2017. This is an opportunity for the Balinese to honour the spirits of defied ancestors and express gratitude for the gift of life. The Galungan holiday is a great time to visit Bali and experience its rich cultural heritage.

At Amadea, we believe that having happy staff members is a contributing factor to ensuring that our guests are happy during their stay. With this in mind, we conduct regular training and development sessions to empower our team and equip them with the tools necessary to serve. We also go to great lengths to identify and reward good deeds through our Employee of the Quarter initiative.  

The most recent Employee of the Quarter winner is a member of housekeeping team, Gede Arya Sugiantara. He is a hard worker with a passion to serve and always goes above and beyond the call of duty.  Another staff member, Ida Bagus Astika from Security Department was also acknowledged as Employee of the Quarter – Supporting Partner for his outstanding performance as a casual contract worker. 

Lastly, the winner of the Employee of the Quarter - Most Recommended by Guests are Putu Pajar Aditya, Ni Putu Ayu Jenny Adnyani, I Gede Indra Surya Pramana and Made Mardana (Doni). This award is presented to the staff member who has the most positive mentions in our guest comments cards.
