Balinese dance goes as far back as Balinese written history with much of the heritage originating from Java. Ironically the Javanese culture has disappeared but has still survived in Bali and has become part of classical Balinese culture.

​Amadea Celebrate Earth Day

Eco friendly initiatives have been part of the game at Amadea since it opened its door to welcome guests. It includes a lot of measures in energy conservation, water saving and waste management with major aim in reducing plastic waste into the environment. As member of local community Amadea has always put surrounding area wellbeing as top priority.

Celebrating Earth Day on April 22, 2023 a team of Amadea Green Champion get their hands dirty with tree planting activity along Saraswati Street in the Seminyak neighborhood. Thanks to the good cooperation from the local “Banjar”, the smallest community unit in Bali, Amadea team planted champaka trees (magnolia champaka) along the barren area on the street side followed by cleaning blitz.

“Champaka flower is one of the important flower for Balinese people as it smells good and always being part of the Balinese Hindu when making offerings for their temple. The tree is strong to withstand heat and give good shade to the area. We are happy to do this small contribution to our neighborhood”, says Indra Saputra, HR Manager at Amadea Resort & Villas who coordinates this tree planting event.

Book Exchange Corner

In response to suggestions made by in-house guests, we since last year have launched our own small library in the corner of the Lobby Lounge. It features a varied collection of books and holiday reading materials that have been left behind by previous travellers. The library operates on an honour system whereby guests are free to borrow books during their stay. Alternatively, they can also exchange novels brought from home for something new to read whilst relaxing by the pool. All book donations will be greatly appreciated to help build up our library for the pleasure of others.

Saraswati Day will be celebrated on Saturday 20th May 2023. This day honours education, knowledge, science, art and all forms of higher learning. Pagerwesi Day
