Where Does Soap Waste Go After Guest Check Out?

Every month our Housekeeping Team collect around 4 to 5 kilograms of left over soap bar from the guest rooms. It will end up at the landfield if it is not properly handled.

Since 2017 Amadea Resort & Villas participates in "Soap for Hope" program which is initiated by Diversey Indonesia in collaboration with The Trans Resort Bali and Rotary Club. Our team collects all left over soap from guest rooms, clean and put them in temporary storage. Once it reach 10 kilograms our team will transfer the soap to The Trans Resort Bali. Together with soap collection from other hotels they will be delivered to Diversey who with their team will recycle the left over soap thru set of method and procedure into a new soap bar. Rotary Club Bali will then take part to distribute the soap to communities in need around Bali island and beyond.

We Care to Share

On March 17th, 2023 a group of Amadea staff members visited family of the late Mr. Komang Sumiarsa, our former Security Supervisor, in Klungkung Regency.  Mr. Komang passed away on five months ago due to illness. Now his wife has to raise and support the live of their three young children.

During the visit we brought them some basic goods such as pack of rice and cooking oil as well as pocket money for the kids. We were excited to see them recover well with the new life they now have. Everyone of us hope that the kids will finish their study well and do as much as we can to support them. Mrs. Komang thanked Amadea team and the support from guests thru Amadea Cares funding. They really appreciate this kindness.

Bali's Culture Calendar in April

Besakih Temple Festival – April 5th, 2023

Besakih Temple, also known as the Mother Temple for followers of the Hindu faith, will be celebrating its annual temple festival next month on April 5th. For an entire month, worshipers will flock to the temple bearing offerings to pray for peace and prosperity. 

Besakih Temple is located in the Karangasem Regency on the slope of Mount Agung, the sacred mountain of Bali. It is believed that this holy site dates from prehistoric time and was used as Hindu place of worship from 1248 when the first Javanese conquerors settled in Bali.

Visitors will be able to observe the festival following a certain route around the temple assigned for tourist. The inner part of the temple is strictly for worshipers only. 

Tumpek Wayang, the purification of the universe – April 29, 2023

An auspicious day coming up on Bali’s cultural calendar is Tumpek Wayang that falls on 29th April 2023. This special occasion pays tribute to the shadow puppets that have both religious and social significance here on the island. A small purification ceremony is performed to bless each puppet, believed to have its own distinct character and possess magical powers that can bring an ordinary performance to life. The puppeteer will also pray during this ritual seeking artistic guidance for future shows.

Puppets, known as ‘wayang kulit’ in Bali, are used to conduct a unique form of theatre employing a transparent screen to project light and shadow. Performances re-enact adaptations of classic Hindu tales or cover local events filled with elements of humour and messages of morality. Puppet shows performed at night are purely for entertainment purposes and during the day they are held in conjunction with more important religious ceremonies.
