Bali Kites – Prayers for Good Crops and Harvests
Balinese kids love to play outdoor. Among many traditional pastimes flying kites are popular toys in windy days.
Kites in Bali are made from the colorful paper, plastic or cloth stretched across a light, often wooden frame. They fly high in the air at the ends of long strings. Kites are made of various sizes and shapes. You will find kite in the form of birds, fish, butterfly, giant dragon or Balinese dancers. There are also kites in modern form like cars, plane or even an UFO.
While kites are great for all who loved, making and flying kites are especially wonderful activities for children. But adults love flying kites too. Here in Bali we have special Kite Festival (Giant Kite) which usually held in July to August when wind is strong. Traditional kites are made and own competitively by teams from the local and international teams.
The event is a seasonal religious festival intended to send a message to the Hindu gods to create abundant crops and harvests.

Daily Little Surprise Awaits
Amadea is a small but service-orientated hotel that always does its very best to stand out from the rest. Therefore, the members of the Housekeeping team have a unique way of brightening up every single day for in-house guests. After each room has been cleaned, our attendants will leave a little memento on the bed in the form of towel art. They have taken the skill of folding towels to the next level by creating a wide range of animals, flowers and even a cake for those extra special occasions. There’s even a loving pair of swans to greet honeymooners or couples celebrating their anniversary.
Guests are often amazed at what they find each day. From a dog wearing reading glasses to a cat or rabbit cuddled up on the pillow, there is no limit to the creativity. Often the Room Attendants get special requests and they have even managed to successfully make a man playing a drum as well as an octopus. Daily towel art has become a highlight for everyone staying at Amadea and there is always an element of surprise when guests return to see what fun creation is decorating their bed.
Amadea Staff Outing and Celebrating Our Stars
At Amadea Resort & Villas, we believe in the mantra that a happy team contributes to happy guests. Therefore, our Annual Staff Outing was conducted over two consecutive days on 27 – 28 April 2023 to ensure that every employee had a chance to participate. We believe that a happy team contributes to happy guests. This year we choose Waterbom Bali to get a lot of fun with the water slides and everybody seems enjoying an escape from their daily routine.
During the event we also go to great lengths to identify and reward good deeds through our Employee of the Quarter initiative.
The Employee of the Quarter winner of Q1 is a member of Guest Service Department team, I Made Wahyudinata Herlangga (Kevin). He is a hard worker with a passion to serve and always goes above and beyond the call of duty. Another staff member, I Gede Rapi Cahyadi from Housekeeping Department was also acknowledged as Employee of the Quarter – Supporting Partner for his outstanding performance as a casual contract worker.
Lastly, the winner of the Employee of the Quarter - Most Recommended by Guest is I Gusti Ngurah Komang Rama Adiputra, usually called by his nickname “Rama”. This award is presented to the staff member who has the most positive mentions in our guest comments cards.
These are just some of the dedicated people who serve our guests on a daily basis and our congratulations go out to all of the winners. Many of you might be familiar with those star employees.
