A Little Girl from Sula Island of North Maluku Gets a New Smile
Amadea Cares is our Corporate Social Responsibility program that focuses on giving back to local people in need. Not everyone on the island is fortunate enough to benefit from Bali’s lucrative tourism industry or have access to quality healthcare. Therefore, we have taken it upon ourselves to help some of the most vulnerable members of the community. Amongst other things, we have made it our main mission to fund craniofacial surgeries and restore quality of life to young children from impoverished families.
On October 12th essential surgeries were performed for a young children requiring urgent medical assistance under this program. Wili Nagita Leko (7 years old) from Sula Islang, North of Maluku Province, east part of Indonesia recently received brand new smiles after undergoing procedures to correct cleft palate deformities.
These little girl now have the opportunity to grow up without affliction and later become productive members of society.

Fun Activity of the Month: Bali White Water Rafting
There is nothing more exhilarating than exploring the natural beauty of Bali with a whitewater rafting excursion. A number of reputable operators are available to conduct guided tours along some of the island’s most breathtaking stretches of river. It is an opportunity to escape the hectic pace of mainstream tourism and experience a side of Bali that remains untouched by the hands of time. A rafting adventure is a combination of challenging rapids and gentle paddling along a river edged by tropical terrain. Tumpek Wayang ~ A Day Dedicated to Balinese Puppets
An auspicious day coming up on Bali's cultural calendar is Tumpek Wayang that falls on 25th November 2023. This special occasion pays tribute to the shadow puppets that have both religious and social significance here on the island. A small purification ceremony is performed to bless each puppet, believed to have its own distinct character and possess magical powers that can bring an ordinary performance to life. The puppeteer will also pray during this ritual seeking artistic guidance for future shows.
Puppets, known as wayang kulit in Bali, are used to conduct a unique form of theatre employing a transparent screen to project light and shadow. Performances re-enact adaptations of classic Hindu tales or cover local events filled with elements of humour and messages of morality. Puppet shows performed at night are purely for entertainment purposes and during the day they are held in conjunction with more important religious ceremonies. Celebrating Our Stars
At Amadea, we believe that having happy staff members is a contributing factor to ensuring that our guests are happy during their stay. With this in mind, we conduct regular training and development sessions to empower our team and equip them with the tools necessary to serve. We also go to great lengths to identify and reward good deeds through our Employee of the Quarter initiative.
The most recent Employee of the Quarter winner is a member of Engineering team, I Wayan Oka Suanjaya. He is a hard worker with a passion to serve and always goes above and beyond the call of duty.
Another staff member, Putu Artayasa from F & B Department was also acknowledged as Employee of the Quarter – Supporting Partner for his outstanding performance as a casual contract worker.
Lastly, the winner of the Employee of the Quarter - Most Recommended by Guest are Rama, Ken, Rapi, June, April, Ata, Sukma, adi, Sita, Riadi, Nia, and Dana. This award is presented to the staff member who has the most positive mentions in our guest comments cards.
