Amadea Cares - Another Reason To Smile When You Stay With Us!
Amadea Resort & Villas takes great pleasure to announce the launch of a Corporate Social Responsibility program that focuses on giving back to the local community. Amadea Cares is set to become the umbrella for a number of social initiatives that will be carried out for the remainder of this year.
Not everyone is fortunate enough to benefit from Bali’s flourishing tourism industry. But Amadea Cares aims address this issue and make a difference to the lives of those in need by supporting orphaned children, the aged, the impoverished and the disabled.
The resort is now allocating a percentage from its monthly profit margin to this worthy cause and staff members will contribute directly from their respective salaries. Each in-house guest will also be invited to participate by donating just Rp.5.000 during their stay, which is less than the price of a single drink. All funds raised through Amadea Cares will be distributed to a number of carefully selected organizations requiring support.
Amadea Resort & Villas chose to debut this program
on Valentine’s Day, a time that celebrates love and commitment. The first recipient of a donation from Amadea Cares was Yayasan Senyum Bali also known as the Bali Smile Foundation. This non-profit charity organization was established in 2005 by Mary Northmore, a Bali resident originally from the UK. It is an independent foundation that brings essential healthcare to local people with severe craniofacial disabilities. For details information please visit https://senyumbali.org/
So missing out on just one drink during your stay could make a big difference to the life of a Balinese person in need!

Nyepi Day: A Silent Celebration for the Balinese New Year
Nyepi Day symbolises the Balinese New Year
and it will be celebrated on 23rd March 2012. The island is a hive of activity in the lead up to this important holiday as local communities take all of their sacred temple artefacts to the sea for a special cleansing ritual. Then the night before Nyepi sees giant monster effigies paraded through the streets in a procession that creates as much noise as possible to deter evil spirits.
On Nyepi Day the entire island comes to a complete standstill and all activity is prohibited - hence the name ‘Day of Silence’. While Bali is shrouded in darkness, the negative forces of the unseen world are tricked into thinking that the island is deserted and therefore move on to inflict havoc elsewhere. Followers of the Hindu faith use this time to meditate and contemplate the year ahead. Out of respect for this unique cultural occasion, visitors are obliged to stay in the confines of their hotel for a period of 24 hours. It is a great opportunity to truly unwind and recharge with a day of quiet relaxation.
