Welcome to the June 2015 Edition of Amadea Resort & Villas Newsletter | June 2015 Connect With Us

Warm greetings from Bali – the island of the Gods!

It is always a pleasure to present our online newsletter and keep you updated with all the latest happenings at Amadea Resort & Villa. From the lifestyle district of Seminyak, we share details about the special promotion and events that will hopefully attract old friends and new to the island of Bali in the near future.

The sun is shining and Bali is filling up with happy holidaymakers looking to make the most of the summer season. School is out for many children and there are plenty of things to do to keep everyone entertained during their time on the island. From making a splash at Waterbom Park to riding with elephants, learning to surf and cycling through remote villages, Bali is the ultimate island for youngsters and simply the young at heart.

The month of July is gearing up to be a busy one with a number of significant celebrations.  Balinese Hindus will be returning home to their ancestral villages for Galungan Day. At the same time, Muslims will break their month-long fast with a special feast of traditional food.
In this edition we shared details about our new library and book exchange program for the pleasure of in-house guests. The annual Bali International Kite Festival is about to take place and we have won an award for paying all of our government taxes on time.

Happy reading and see you soon in Bali.

Book Exchange Corner

In response to suggestions made by in-house guests, we have recently launched our own small library in the corner of the Lobby Lounge. It features a varied collection of books and holiday reading materials that have been left behind by previous travellers. The library operates on an honour system whereby guests are free to borrow books during their stay. Alternatively, they can also exchange novels brought from home for something new to read whilst relaxing by the pool. All book donations will be greatly appreciated to help build up our library for the pleasure of others.

Celebrating Galungan & Kuningan

One of the most auspicious holidays for followers of the Hindu faith is coming up on Bali’s cultural calendar. Galungan Day will take place on 15th July 2015 to mark the beginning of a ten-day festival coloured by ceremonies, offerings and prayers to appease the gods. This religious event falls in the same week as Idul Fitri when our Muslim brothers and sisters complete their month-long fast. Bali is an island of rare tolerance where people from every race and religion can exist side by side in harmony. Banks and government offices will be closed for several days during this holiday period; however, all tourist facilities will remain open

Bali International Kite Festival

The southerly winds are now blowing strong creating perfect conditions for kite flying. Bali’s skies have come alive with traditional kites dancing in the breeze and preparations are underway for an annual competition. The Bali International Kita Festival will take place on the black sand beach of Padanggalak near Sanur from 18th to 20th July 2015. Local youngsters are serious about their kites with literally spent building and test flying new designs. The festival is a community event that sees participants from all over the island gather to compete in various categories for generous cash prizes.

Amadea Receives Best Region Tax Payer 2014 Award

Amadea Resort & Villas is the appreciative recipient of an award presented by the Regent of Badung Regency for being the best tax payer in the region for 2014 in the four-star hotel category. Indonesian law states that a 10% tax must be levied on all hotel transactions and this is payable to the local government on a monthly basis. Accumulated funds collected from the hospitality industry are then used to support tourism development. A percentage is also allocated to other areas of the island that do not directly benefit from the tourism industry.

“It is certainly reassuring that the local government has recognized our efforts to operate as a responsible company that collects, reports and submits its taxes in a timely manner. We are proud to receive this award as it is in line with our mission statement and general work ethic to be an accountable, law-abiding member of Bali’s hospitality community,” comments Accounting Manager, Ms. Rani Kusumaningtyas, upon receiving the award.
