Warm greetings from Bali – the island of the Gods!
It is always a pleasure to present our online newsletter and keep you updated with all the latest news, events and special promotions from Amadea in the heart of Seminyak.
The Balinese community is currently preparing itself for Nyepi Day on 23rd March 2012, a cultural holiday whereby all activity comes to a complete standstill for a 24 hour period. Giant monster effigies will take to the streets on the eve of this auspicious day for a noisy parade to deter evil spirits from disrupting the island.
Amadea Cares, our Corporate Social Responsibility program, is continuing to raise funds to support those in need. We are in a position where it is time to give back to the local community. And the generosity of our staff and in-house guests is certainly helping to make a difference to those who do not directly benefit from Bali’s flourishing tourism industry.
There are some interesting events coming up on the calendar including a day dedicated to animals, the Bali Spirit Festival and the Bali Marathon. Read on for more details.
Don’t forget that you can also follow us on Facebook (http://www.facebook.com/AmadeaBali) to be amongst the first to receive details about new packages and items of interest direct from the team at Amadea.
Happy reading and we hope to see you in Bali very soon.

Amadea Cares - Giving Back To Those In Need!
There has been an overwhelming response to Amadea’s new Corporate Social Responsibility program that was launched recently to coincide with Valentine’s Day. Amadea Cares is an initiative that focuses on giving back to the local community by supporting orphaned children, the aged, the impoverished and the disabled.
The resort is now allocating funds to this worthy cause and staff members are also contributing directly from their respective salaries. Even in-house guests are participating by donating Rp. 5,000- per person to the program when they check out. All money raised is going towards helping make a difference to the lives of those in need.
Representatives from Amadea Cares will be making a second donation to Yayasan Senyum Bali (Bali Smile Foundation) after the Nyepi holiday. This non-profit charity brings essential healthcare to local people with severe craniofacial disabilities. For further information about the Bali Smile Foundation, please visit www.senyumbali.org.
Amadea also has a collection box in the lobby whereby small change and personal donations can be deposited directly to the Bali Smile Foundation. Guests are also free to leave any unused goods at the resort for the RED BAG program. All items will be taken to the Smile Shop in Ubud and sold to raise additional funds for this reputable charity.

EC3 Training Part Two
Amadea’s team of supervisors recently completed the second phase of an innovative training initiative called EC3. This abbreviation stands for Evaluate, Communicate and Evolve. It is a Prime Plaza brand program that encourages the implementation of environmental policies to enhance marketability and reduce operational costs. Participants completed a series of exercises with a focus on assuming responsibility within the workplace to analyse and prioritize tasks in the most effective manner.
There was also awareness training for all other Amadea staff members. This was carried out to reinforce the principles of EC3 that can be applied not only at work but also in the home and local community.
