Traditional Balinese Dance
Traditional dance is an intrinsic part of Bali’s unique cultural heritage. Some dances are performed to accompany religious ceremonies and rituals. Dance is also one of the most accessible forms of local artistry on the island that you can readily enjoy as a traveller.
The Barong & Rangda dance is known as one of Bali’s most popular forms of dance for the entertainment of tourists. It is performed daily in the village of Batubulan, which is on the way to Ubud. The Barong is a mythical creature with magical powers that has both lion and shaggy dog characteristics. The dance depicts the universal tale of good versus evil with a duel between the opposing forces.
If you are interested in seeing the Barong & Rangda dance or any other type of traditional Balinese performance, please contact our Guest Activity Assistant for detailed information.

Amadea's Temple Ceremony
Amadea Resort & Villas celebrated its first ever temple ceremony on 11th October 2011. It was an auspicious day on the Balinese calendar that also coincided with the Full Moon. A contingent of staff representatives travelled to Pulaki Temple in the north of Bali just one day before the ceremony. They collected holy water that was used by a local priest to purify and bless the resort’s temple along with an array of elaborate offerings. This religious ceremony was attended by all staff members and witnessed by in-house guests.
