Thanks to recent feedback, we have now installed two computer terminals at the Lobby Lounge for guests to browse the internet or keep in touch with friends on their preferred social network.

This service is free of charge for in-house guests. However, for the convenience of everyone staying at the resort, each session of use is limited to 15 minutes only. And for those who want to enjoy internet access in the comfort of their room, a reasonably priced internet voucher can be purchased at the Front Desk.

The Elephant Safari Park is just one of many popular recreational activities that the island of Bali has to offer. It is located in the village of Taro, which is near Ubud if you are planning a full day outing. The park provides a rare opportunity to get up close and personal with these incredible animals in an inspiring tropical setting.  Elephants can be seen immersing themselves in a man-made lake in between riding, painting and other activities. You will be able to feed, touch and take photos of the elephants as well as learn more about their ancestry at the park’s historical museum.

Purnama Kapat "11th October 2011"

Purnama refers to the full moon in Bali and many followers of the Hindu faith choose this occasion to conduct a blessing ceremony or ritual. Purnama Kapat or the 4th full moon in accordance to the ancient Saka lunar calendar occurs during the month of October and is considered a particularly auspicious date.

This year Amadea will hold its first temple ceremony on Purnama Kapat. The celebrations will begin on 10th October 2011 when a delegation of staff members plan to travel to Pulaki Temple in north Bali to collect holy water that will be used during the blessing ritual. An elaborate ceremony will take place the next day at 5pm lead by a Hindu priest. Employees will gather in the temple area to pray for Amadea’s ongoing success and peaceful times ahead.
 

Ubud Writers and Readers Festival "5th – 9th October 2011"

This year’s Ubud Writers & Readers Festival is themed ‘Nanduring Karang Awak’ - cultivate the land within, which is a line from an old Balinese poem. The festival is a creative platform for established and emerging writers to gather against the nurturing backdrop of Ubud. Interactive workshops, cultural discussions, poetry slams and book launches are just some of the highlights of this annual event. Participants will be encouraged to explore the great global commons of mind and heart. Mix a bit of paradise and lavish creature comforts, add a dash of cultural magic, stir with persistence and presto . . . Ubud has become one of the top literary festivals in the world.

Following the launch of Prime Plaza’s ‘Clearer is Better’ campaign in August 2011, a team of supervisors from Amadea recently participated in a two-day workshop. The aim of this programme was to reinforce the importance of decision-making and delegation skills for supervisors within the company.

Environment Card

Amadea has adopted an eco-friendly practice with the implementation of a linen and towel card in every room. It essentially invites guests to participate in an environmental awareness program whereby bedding and towels can be used more than just once. The response to this initiative has been very positive and now only an average of 5 rooms request to have their linen changed on a daily basis. Together we can all make a small difference to future of the world that we live in!
