Bali Kites Festival 2024 - The Flying Dragon

Bali’s cultural calendar is a continuous cycle of ceremonies and rituals associated with the Hindu faith. There are many auspicious occasions including Saraswati Day (Saturday 13th July 2024). This day honours education, knowledge, science, art and all forms of higher learning. Ceremonies will be held at schools and universities around the island whereby students will pray together. It is a time to express gratitude for past achievements and guidance for future academic endeavors.
Pagerwesi is another important religious holiday that involves prayers and offerings we held on Wednesday 17th July 2024. It is essentially a time to contemplate the future and mentally strengthen oneself against unexpected obstacles. Like many Balinese festivities, Pagerwesi also celebrates the universal battle between good and evil.
- Tumpek Landep
Tumpek Landep on 27th July 2024 pays homage to metal heirlooms such as the traditional daggers that were once part of Bali’s warrior past. These weapons are cleaned and blessed with offerings and a sprinkle of holy water. Nowadays, cars and motorbikes are also decorated and blessed by the Hindu community.
- Bali Kite Festival
Bali Kites Festival took place at Padang Galak Beach – Sanur, it will be held around July – August 2024.
Traditional giant kites are made and own competitively by teams from the local and international teams. The event is a seasonal religious festival intended to send a message to the Hindu gods to create abundant crops and harvests.
- Bali Art Festival
The annual festival of Bali Art festival held until 13th July 2024 around Art Centre Denpasar. The big festival introducing about the Balinese Art and Culture. This inspiring month-long festival will feature daily performances and exhibitions in the extensive grounds of the Art Centre Denpasar.
