Sustainable Food Festival at Asparagus Resto & Bar
25 November 2024
Asparagus Resto and Bar is thrilled to announce its participation in the highly anticipated BHA Sustainable Food Festival, an annual event organized by the Bali Hotels Association (BHA), aimed at promoting sustainable practices across the island. This year, the festival will run from October 30 to November 10, 2024, featuring 35 participating restaurants dedicated to showcasing Indonesia's rich culinary culture.
The theme for this year’s festival, "Flavour of Nusantara," invites guests to embark on a gastronomic journey through the diverse flavors of the Indonesian archipelago. Each participating restaurant, including Asparagus, will create special menus featuring locally sourced sustainable ingredients, minimizing waste, and adhering to environmentally responsible operations.
At Asparagus, visitors can look forward to an array of delicious Indonesian meals available for lunch and dinner throughout the festival. Guests will be treated to tantalizing appetizers such as Asinan Bogor, Gado Gado, and Lemper Goreng. Soup choices include the famous Soto Lamongan and Sop Iga Babi, each brimming with authentic flavors.
The main course will feature standout dishes like Sumatran Rendang, Mie Goreng Aceh, Sate Campur, Ikan Bakar Sambal Kecombrang, and a delightful Vegetarian Oper Tahu. The star of the event is the signature creation by Asparagus' Chef: "Ayam Gulung Bumbu Bali," a grilled chicken breast stuffed with cassava leaves mixed with Balinese spices, served alongside sautéed purple potato and pumpkin leaves.
No meal is complete without dessert, and guests can indulge in traditional sweets like Es Pisang Hijau and Panda Cake Gulung. To quench your thirst, Asparagus' bar team has crafted refreshing beverages using local ingredients, including Merah Pu-Tea, Indonesian rambutan tea, and unique drinks like Es Campur Nusantara, Es Kelapa Pedas, Es Kopi Toraja, and Markisa Bedugul. Local cocktails featuring Arak, Bali's traditional liquor, are also available, complemented by wine pairings from locally produced vineyards.
Asparagus embodies the philosophy of "tastes good, feels good," ensuring that every dish and drink not only delights the palate but also aligns with eco-friendly practices. By participating in the Sustainable Food Festival, Asparagus and its fellow establishments are not only enhancing the local food industry but also inspiring others to embrace sustainable practices.
Join us at Asparagus Resto and Bar from October 30 to November 10, 2024, to savor the flavors of Indonesia while supporting a sustainable future.
