Tree Planting Activity in the Serene and Sacred Area of Sakenan Temple on Serangan Island
30 June 2025

Amadea Resort & Villas Seminyak Bali marked its 14th anniversary with a meaningful and impactful event—a tree planting activity in the serene and sacred area of Pura Sakenan on Serangan Island. The event, held on May 29, 2025, involved representatives from all departments of the resort, united in their commitment to enhancing the natural beauty of Bali. The resort team planted cempaka trees along with various ornamental plants, as requested by the temple management, to contribute to the temple's peaceful and vibrant atmosphere. The event was further enriched by a cleanup session around the temple, promoting environmental care and respect for sacred spaces.
Indra Saputra, Human Resources Manager of Amadea Resort & Villas and the coordinator of the event, shared that this activity is a way to embody the values of Tri Hita Karana, a Balinese philosophy that emphasizes harmony between nature, humans, and the Creator. The "Go Green" theme for Amadea's anniversary was a natural fit with the tree planting and environmental efforts, aligning the resort’s values with the sustainable care of Bali’s natural landscapes.

Pura Sakenan, a temple with a rich history dating back to the 10th century, holds deep spiritual and cultural significance. Built originally by Mpu Kuturan and later extended by Danghyang Astapaka in the 16th century, the temple is surrounded by lush mangrove forests, creating an atmosphere of tranquility and mysticism. The temple's Odalan ceremony, held every six months during Kuningan Day, attracts Hindus from all over Bali, who gather to offer prayers for blessings and protection, particularly for farmers seeking safety for their crops.
